Quick Guide to Motorbike Helmet Composite Image

Newborn baby safety it's one of those things that is not to be laughed at when working with these precious little bundles. In fact, those who read my blog on a regular basis will probably get sick of me talking about newborn baby safety. But, in an industry that has no regulations, the only way that we can make sure that no babies are harmed - is for all newborn photographers who are trained to talk about newborn safety.

Being a member of the Baby and Newborn Photography Association (BANPAS for short) is that I am blessed to be part of an organisation of newborn and baby photographers where safety is paramount. The website has plenty of information for parents too - and the more we talk about it - the more people will realise what should be the norm.

I wanted to share the above image from Ethan's newborn shoot as an example. Ethan's Daddy brought his Rossi Replica Helmet and wanted a shot of Ethan with it. There are so many different ways to photograph a baby with a motorbike helmet - and I tried every single one - but Ethan was not having any of it. There are several composite ways to do certain shots - but Ethan wanted to do things his own way - and I will never put a baby in a position where they are not happy.

As I knew how much it this shot was really wanted - I knew there was a different way to do it - and this is how composite images are born.

The main thing throughout is that baby is happy, and settled which means mummy and daddy are happy and settled. And yet they can still get the image that they dreamed of.

If you are looking for a newborn photographer then do not hesitate to ask to see how they "made" an image so you can make sure that the baby was safe at all times.

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me, as you can book in for your newborn photoshoot from being 20 weeks pregnant. Don't forget you will also get one of our new "newborn packs" which we are getting great feedback from!
