On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Matt and Petra's Wedding at the Queens Hotel in Leeds. It's funny that 8 years into shooting Weddings and I'm still shooting Weddings at new Venues.
I started with Petra and her bridesmaids in a hive of Hair and Makeup in the Bridal Suite on the 8th floor. With its own private balcony giving a big view over Leeds City Centre. Lots of music and giggles were filling the room as people were getting a little bit excited!
Petra gave her bridesmaids the colour that she wanted for the dresses and they all picked their own that they were comfortable in! Considering they decided on the colours via WhatsApp I have to say they got a good match of colours! :)
At the Ceremony, the special guest of honour was Frankie, Matt and Petra's dog - who I think could have quite taken some of the spotlight off Matt and Petra!
Petra was walked down the aisle by her Mum whilst Matt and his best man Scott waited patiently for the bridal party's arrival. Each bridesmaid walking down the aisle before Petra headed down. The ceremony was beautiful with two readings, including a specially written piece of poetry from one of Petra's bridesmaids.
After the ceremony, we all headed downstairs to do a big group photograph of everyone, before heading outside for smaller groups including, family and parents. Trying to avoid the busy people of Leeds and not getting run over by Taxis!
We then headed over to the Square for photographs with the Bridal Party, of all the groomsmen and Bridesmaids before photographs of the Happy Couple themselves. The weather was completely on our side!
When we headed inside, it was time for the Wedding Breakfast then followed by speeches by Petra, Matt and Best Man Scott. Afterwards, Petra went and got changed into her Second Dress aka the Dancing Dress and her second pair of shoes (why not!) and we headed out for a couple more photographs of new Mr and Mrs Young together before it was time to get the party started!
