[Wedding] Sunshine on a Rainy Day, Sally & Karl at Cubley Hall Penistone

On Sunday, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sally & Karl's Wedding at Cubley Hall, Penistone.

As the Tour-De-Yorkshire was on, I set off early to Tankersley Manor, where the bridal preparations were starting. Myself and the florist turned up at the same time - this is really where things started to get real for Sally!

Herself and family members were split over two rooms, which was lovely as hair was being done in one, and make-up in another, giving precious time and chill-out zones were needed.

We were later joined by flower girl Ruthie before we all set off in a convoy of cars to go to Cubley Hall where the bridal preparations would finish.

Once at Cubley, it was nervous tummies and bubbles flowing as now it really was getting real! The bridesmaids wore gorgeous lace short navy blue dresses with a deep v back, where Sally opted for a long lace overlay and tulle bottom dress with a beautiful made to measure rhinestone bridal sash. Just stunning!

Due to the weather (it had been raining that morning!) the wedding was unable to happen outside - so was in the Barn inside - which I personally love the rustic look and fairy lights!

Sally was walked down the aisle by her Dad, to Karl and his best man who were waiting for them down at the bottom. Not many people had dry eyes - but the smiles on Karl and Sally's faces showed everything they needed to.

After the short but sweet and personal civil ceremony, Sally and Karl walked out to "My Girl" full of love and happy smiles. Not only that - as they made the way outside - we had sunshine!

"I've got sunshine on a cloudy day..."

After a bit of a mingle and drinks the newly married couple headed outside for photographs with family and friends before we were able to work with them as a couple. I love working with the couple when they are on their own for that 5 minutes they get in peace and quiet and can see how they really connect.

The room at Cubley looked beautiful when it was set out and ready for the Wedding Breakfast, with a main meal of a very yummy Carvery!

The had decided on a bottle and chalkboard table plan which was made up using different bottles from handcrafted beers - something that Karl loves. For instance, the top table was Weird Beard Brew Co.

Each table had candles and a beautiful arrangement of flowers - with a beermat with the table names on. Fabulous and I've never seen it before! I love seeing new things at Weddings!

After the meal was over the speeches began. First of all by Sally's Dad, then by Karl and then the Best Man finishing it off with a lovely poem he wrote.

Speeches made lots of laughs, jeers and tears from everyone.

After Dinner, and now it was brighter and a little bit dryer, we headed back outside for the confetti shot - and a couple of more too. I love it when the light changes and we are able to get some lovely shots in lovely, soft light.

I want to say a massive thank you to "The Moff's" for allowing me to share their special day. We had such a laugh - and the guests definitely had a very good boogie on down - and I'm pretty sure it continued long after I had left.
