{Launching} Win Your Wedding Photography Opens in 1-hour

Wow....I cant believe it has come around so quickly, that from 12:01am couples can until 11:59pm on 30th June - enter to win their Wedding Photography.

I am nervous, excited, and thrilled to be running this competition - and I cannot wait to find out the stories to why people want to win their Wedding Photography.

Remember that to enter you must be getting married between 1st October 2011 and 31st March 2012 - and no couples who have already booked us are eligiable to enter.

From Coast to Coast, it doesnt matter where in the UK you are getting married, you can still enter to Win your Wedding Photography, however please read the Terms and Conditions to see if any additional travel/accommodation may be charged.

I'm doing this because I want people to have images to treasure forever, regardless of how much photography budget they have, and people tend to get married in winter months, either for the fabulous Winter Weather, or the fact that getting married in the summer-months is quite expensive.

All you have to do is email us, with your names, wedding date, wedding venue, and why you should win your Wedding Photography. We also ask for a telephone contact detail.

You can also nominate a couple, to win their wedding photography as long as their wedding is within the given dates, and there must be no other photographer present on the day.

So whether its a Civil Ceremony, or a Civil Partnership.
If its Lands End, or John O'Groates.

Enter our fab competition to win over £1200's of Wedding Photography!!!

{blp} My Royal Wedding...

Stephanie Allin

In honour of today being the day that the Royal Wedding falls upon, I decided that I would do a blog post dedicated to my own royal wedding. Read....My own wedding.

What do I want, what would I want, if money was no object. I've not picked a venue in this etc, but it's just things that I've said I've wanted throughout the years were I to get married.
I'm sure Kate is wracked with nerves this morning, or alternatively, is thinking she has so many people running  around she just wished she had some piece and quiet and to take things at her own pace. Alas, this isnt to be.

I'm not a Royalist, and when Kate walks down the Aisle, I will not be watching it upon TV, i shall be sat, making final preperations to set off to Pauline & Gary's Wedding that I start at 1pm.

I do however love a good wedding, that I can partake and comment on. I'm a bit of a bad guest, I get bored easily, and being in the business you always have opinions!
There's no pressure on me to get married from any avenue - and most people think that being an unmarried woman in the Wedding Industry I'd want to rush around and plan my own. But its not the case. There's far too much choice out there for me to make a decision! And my Boyfriend at times cannot make decisions to save his life.

Getting married is something you should want to do, not feel you have to do. And I've not planned my wedding since I was little. I was always going to be a Mummy (which I'm still not) but I wasnt going to have a husband, because boys smelled. They still do. However, I would like my own wedding one day. And whether or not it resembles any of the idea's im going to pop in here, I shall not know (I'll write a blog post whenever I get engaged in no matter how many years time it is) and then when I get married!

My Dress I've said would be a short one. I want a 50's style, but not quite decided on alterneck, or strapless. May even go completely and go for a strappy dress. I dont particularly like my arms (it's one of my only bug-bears) so there are times that I may go for something completely different. However, I cannot see me getting married in Summer (I burn far too easily) and I'd want to enjoy my day, so a feather-style shrug, or something similar would be perfect.

These are some of my current Favourites...

Next were the shoes...short dress means statement piece shoes as everyone is going to see them: I have seen, fallen in love with, and contemplating purchasing these shoes from Rachel Simpson Shoes...I want them. That is all.

Aren't they beautiful!

Now I joked, many moons ago that I wanted the colours, teal and orange - mainly because I am a Sheffield Steelers, Ice Hockey Fan - and you know, its always nice to have a bit of a theme, and a reason why.

So....as Gerbera's are some of my favourite flowers - and they are relatively easy to get all year round - they would be my flower of choice. I have seen some other beautiful flowers - but Gebera's always win it for me. (Calla Lillies are my next favourite flower!)

So...where would the teal come in? A petticoat Skirt for underneath my dress...however it seems I would probably have to have one specifically made, as it seems to be hard to FIND teal - but this black one would work with the shoes - but no...teal please :)

As with many weddings people give input. I'm sure Kate and Wills day is different to how they imagined it would be - and how they dreamed it would be - I just hope that the photographer takes some images of the couple, that show the intimate tender moments - that we dont get to see - something that it keeps for them and a reason they got married, because they are in Love and want to be together.

Everyone should remember thats the bottom reason for getting married.

Enjoy whatever celebrations, and enjoy the Wedding, and hopefully I'll catch up on twitter regarding what is happening throughout the day!

{Launching} Win Your Wedding Photography

Are you getting married? Then write 12:01am at 1st May 2011 in your diary.
Sit at your computer, and get writing and planning - because if you are getting married between 1st October 2011 and 31st March 2012 - then you could WIN your Wedding Photography!
Here we have a little Question and Answer Session, which is also on the Competition Website where you will also find the Terms and Conditions.

Blue Lights Photography is a female, Award Winning Wedding Photographer from Barnsley, covering the Yorkshire area and beyond. Run by myself (Adele), I specialise in making images to treasure forever. Also a finalist for a Wedding Idea's award within my first year of business, you can be sure of a great service.

Why are you running the competition?

I am running the competition to enable couples getting married from 1st October 2011 to 31st March 2012 to WIN their Wedding Photography. I believe that everyone should have images to treasure forever and most people who get married in the winter months, do so because they want to either have a beautiful winter wedding or their budget will not stretch to an in-season wedding. This can mean that a lot of people drop the idea of having a professional photographer, or they go for a photographer they can afford rather than want. Giving the opportunity for a couple to win an amazing £1200 of photography including an album means that they do not have to worry and that money could be spent elsewhere on the wedding.

What do you win?

As mentioned, the prize is worth over £1200, and includes a full-day of Photography from award winning Blue Lights Photography and a 10x10, 10-spread Italian Designer Album of choice from Album Epoca
Blue Lights Photography's full day photography also includes the following:
•Pre-Wedding Consultations & Pre-Wedding Photoshoot
•Venue visit with Bride and Groom
•DVD slideshow of Pre-wedding Photoshoot and Wedding
•20 Thank You cards
•Travel expenses included up to 50 mile radius
•Online web gallery access & 100 postcards with access details for guests.

How do we enter?

All you have to do is email info@bluelightsphotography.co.uk with your names, wedding date and venue, and why you should win. Full Terms and conditions are available here.

When is the competition open?

The Competition is open from 12:01am on 1st May 2011 to 11:59pm on 30th June 2011 after which 3 people will be shortlisted.

How will the shortlist work?

The shortlist will be chosen by a panel of people from past and current brides, people with media connections and of course myself.

Who will win?

The shortlist will be announced and then we are actively asking people to VOTE!
This will be done on the Blue Lights Photography Blog. We ask that people do not vote multiple times for the same person, as this will lead to all your votes being pulled.
The winner will be the person with the most votes and will be announced on 1st August 2011.

Then what happens?

We will publish the winner, and will also go to local press with the winner (and shortlist) stories and pictures. We will also use online wedding blogs and websites to promote the pre wedding Photoshoot and the wedding after the Bride and Groom have seen their images.

It really is that simple! - If you have only provisionally booked your Wedding Date then you can still enter as long as it is within the months stated. People without a Wedding Date cannot enter.

Please make sure you read the terms and conditions over on the competition website - and good luck!!!
